It's been a year my brother, since the day that crushed so many that love you. I know that Jamie and Dad and myself are deeply scarred by that devistating event and can only hold onto the memories that we hold deep in our hearts. Fiona although I havent seen much of her in the past 12 months is carrying on with life as you would expect of someone of her calibre. She is one special lady. On the rare occassion that I have seen Alana, I look into her eyes and can see that your soul runs deep with in. She sure has been blessed that little one.

Adam.
Having Adam as the project leader was different, his understanding of the project, his goal to get the qualities right and his precise way of moving things in the right direction developing things never seen Before, was different.
In my professional life I have meet few who had this kind of full understanding and fairness to the client, the architect and the project. As a friend he had a seldom open mind, making you feel that you meant something to him.
Adam we miss you. My thoughts are with your beautiful family. Every time Dubai comes up we think of you.
Thank you for helping realizing my Sydney University project.

Adam
Your life and passing has touched us all in different ways and we will always remember you with fondness and love. Will always remember the pints in The Butchers, and the barbecue overlooking the harbour, and will do whatever we can for Fiona, Alannah, Annie Rose, Charlie and Jack. You made my sister very happy and your love for each other was tangible.
Lots of love, the biggest sister, Ann Marie |
Adam
I am not a regular cyclist on the Friday rides and did not know you. Last week end I rode the coast to coast ride which passed by the scene of the tragic accident. My thoughts were with your family at that time. There were several large motorcycles on the road that day which brought home how vulnerable we are on the road as cyclists. I hope the authorities responsible for the traffic management will act after this terrible accident to improve road safety at the location. Adam ,may you rest in peace.

Adam,
After this horrible tragedy I realised my life will never be the same, then I realised its not because you arent here anymore but because you were here, I am a better person for knowing you! and I know the world is a better place for having had you in it!
I am not sure what comes next for you but I am sure it will be peaceful and joyus.
The difficult thing for us who love you left behind, is we cant share in your love the way we used to, but rest assured that love is still felt and shared!
We all miss you and will continue to embarass you with all the crazy stories of your youth and you will always be part of us! We love you then, now and always Tash x
|
Adam my great friend, who was always there for me. I will never find a better gentleman. God Bless your soul.
Khalid Shaban |
Adam,
I still cry just thinking that I will never get to hug you at the airport when we see each other, or laugh together over stories from the old days, or talk about catching up next. You have been my best friend, biggest supporter, most honest mentor and along with Tash (who you also loved deeply), the only person who I could really really trust!
You were my 'go to guy', and 25 years years of being best friends only makes the next 25 impossible to imagine without you, and I am glad so many other people also got to know you.
You treated me better than any bother could and Barb, Bram, Jamie and Tim took me in and made me an honorary Pollack. For this I will be eternally grateful. I will never forget our last chat on the Tuesday, and I am glad I told you every time we spoke that I love you. I feel cheated, but all the things we talked about doing together, I will now do for you and carry you in my heart and talk to you along the way, because although you are no longer by my side, you will always be in my heart and mind.
I love you mate, and Tash, myself and the girls will take care of Fiona, Allanah, Annie Rose and the boys; that is our promise to you.
Talk to you soon buddy xxxx Gaz

Adam my son, It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye. You were my first born and you hold a special place in my heart. I love you as I love your brothers Tim and Jamie and my grandchildren. I quote a proverb which says it all, "Parents hold their children's hands for a while and their hearts forever"
I am exteremely grateful that I have my memories of the times we spent together, the house renovations, and the Rugby matches. your cheery respose of "father" at the other end of the phone when I answered, these I will treasure to the end of my days.
We will be together again one day, and you will be able to confirm that they do play Rugby in heaven.
Goodbye my son, go and find Mum, she is waiting for you. I love you both. - Dad
|
Adam, we are all still in shock and will miss your friendly happy smile and the fun times we spent together. Our last memory is of you at Tess and Holly's party dancing and having fun and laughing at jimmy in his gladiator outfit. Fiona and you shared something special. Alannah will have us to fill her in on what a great father you were. We will miss you,
Love Liz, Tony, Tess and Holly Gunton |
Although I never met you Adam, we heard on great authority, from the "O'Donnell Family Grapvine", that you fitted in a treat, and made my cousin extremly happy, thats all that matters really. Fiona was pregnant with Alanna, the same time I was pregnant with my daughter, a joy to share considering we were both hitting the otherside of forty !. Alanna will continue her Dads legacy, and I hope to meet you one day, and share what everyone describes your Dad Adam, as the "Nicest Bloke you could meet", God Bless Fiona, hope to catch up one day, your Cousin Helen X

Dear Adam
It has taken me a while to be able to write this note and clearly I still do not know what to say or do. My future has changed; I continue to dig deep to find every moment that I spent with you so I can archive it and never forget my mentor and friend.
I am honored to have been able to share such a special, albeit short, time with you in Dubai and thank you for our friendship. Your amazing ability to always have time for your family, friends and colleagues is something I will never forget and you have set an example for us all to follow.
The passion and love you shared for everything in life was amazing I only wish I could remember if I said I love you mate , my heart says I did but my memory says not.
Good bless and see you on the other side, Chris. |
Adam had the unique ability to make everyone feel they were his best friends - sadly missed.
The Newcastle years - Railway Street Terrace. Youngest President Rotary (Sunrise). The concerts, the long barbeques. Mozart by Moonlight (Adam and Roger asleep!) Trips to Melbourne, all night spas - part of our family for so many years.
A fitting and beautiful farewell at Riverview - in style - as always

When we first arrived in Australia you and Fiona invited us to your house for New Years Eve. I'd only known you a few weeks but it was a great welcome to a new country for us. We then worked together at USYD and I was and continue to be inspired by your leadership and no nonsense attitude to problem solving. I will miss your company and am grateful we caught up last month in Sydney. Claire and my thoughts are with Fiona and family. You were a one-off and an inspiration.

Dearest Adam, I loved your spirit and your love of life. I loved that you held my sister Fiona's hand through all of life's trials and that you loved her as much as she deserves. I loved that you could dance with her and love and support all of your's and her children together equally with her. We will look after her Adam. You will always be alive in our hearts. Take care x Fiona's little sister, Deirdre |
Dear Adam,
I still can't believe you're not with us on this earth. As your neighbour at Lane Cove, we spent many great times together over several years, and your constant smile, advice & friendship will never be forgotten. I'll also never forget the last dinner we had at Kellys' on New Years Eve, watching the fireworks just before you left for Dubai, nor the many times we'd have a drink, or three at our bar, & chew the fat.
You were a great mate, a great husband and father, and I just wish there were more people like you in this world.
Rest peacefully

Dear Adam
It was great to have you our French cycling trip. you were a wonderful addition to our group. We all enjoyed the trip more for your presence and we are proud to see you in our jersey (HHGG) in the photo opposite. You were so annoying in that I could beat you up the Tourmalet on day 2 but by the end of the week I couldn't keep up with you!! We will remember you.
Love

Dear Adam,
It seems only yesterday that you were sitting on our terrace, drinking gin & tonic and having a laugh! We had a wonderful holiday with you and Fiona in Dubai and came home content that our dear friend Fiona was so happy and you were so much in love. You were a wonderful husband and father and you will be deeply missed.

Adam, I am completely shocked and saddened to hear of this awful tragedy. It seems like only yesterday when I was sitting across from you in your boardroom and you were smiling and chatting in your usual positive way.
I didn't know you very well but I do know that your passing will leave a terrible hole in the hearts of those close to you.
I pray that God gives your family and loved ones the strength to get through this and that he has welcomed you home with open arms to keep you safe until you are all together again.

Dear Adam, you were an amazing human being and to sum you up one of a kind . You lived with passion, inspired many people who were fortunate to have met you. I came to know you through work, our friendship was short but will take from it a lifetime of memories. Will always hear your laughter, see your smile and feel your immense positivity. The team will never forget you during the COINS UK 3 peaks challenge. When you were riding, you were growing as a person and in your spiritual space. You are a thousand winds that blow, the diamonds glimpses of snow, the sunlight on ripened grain and the gentle autumns rain. This is not the end of a life but a new beginning and your journey continues.. Rest in peace my dear friend.
Fiona, my heartfelt sympathies and condolences to you, Alannah and your family.

Darling Adam,
When I heard the news that you were no longer with us Sarah and I just drove and drove down south. On that drive we reflected on your beautiful life, from the time you were born, the family holidays at Mim's, your beautiful wife and children. We then received a message that our Mim, your grandmother, needed us, so we then headed back up north and 5 hours later I saw our beautiful 92 year old grandmother rocking back and forth, crying, "My beautiful darling smiling boy" repeating over and over and that Adam sums you up perfectly ... you were our beautiful darling smiling boy and you brought sunshine into all our lives and today when we say goodbye I look out and see the sun shining ever so brightly and it is you and your smile. May you rest in peace in your mother's arms. We love you Adam.

I will dearly miss you brother, and for now be incredibly sad. Time will heal the pain I feel, but time will never fade the memories inwhich are instilled in my heart forever. Adam, The relationship you and Fiona had was so special, your ability to laugh at adversity, the love and generosity you gave to your children, extended families and friends is something to which we should all aspire. I hope that you are still looking down, from a twinkly star, on us all as we are looking up at you.

I admired you from the moment I met you and could not have chosen a better husband for my daughter, Fiona, and father for my grand daughter, Alannah.
You gave them so much happiness in the short time that you were with them.
As long as I live, you too will live, for you are now a permanent part of my memories.
Love,

Dear Adam,
I have not known you personally until that tragic accident. But I know, we are always together in our Friday group rides. Until I become a witness of that terrible moment coz, I'm the nearest at your back. I'm still in shock up to now, and could hardly accept your untimely demise. Our sincerest condolence for your family and relatives.
From all of us Filipino riders.

Darling Adam,
You will know that your leaving us has left a tremendous hole in our hearts and it is impossible to believe that we will not hear your special laugh at our crazy jokes. We have known you growing up as a boy, a young man and as a man and no one can take your many successes from your memory.
You were to us 'our second son' and our last talk a couple of weeks ago was as usual, funny and light-hearted. Sleep well our young mate, just know we will always take care of all your family in the future.
With our love always.

"May the road rise up to meet you..." This is like my other favorite "Do Life". Either way it is clear Adam was a person who lived life on his terms. He was clearly an inspiration to others and a role model for his children. Judging by the tributes from those who knew Adam it is clear that while he has departed far too early, he made his mark. My condolences to Adam's family and close friends and heartfelt hope that you find comfort in these confirmations that his life was well lived.

Adam, you were a great friend and your enthusiastic spirit towards everything you did was truly amazing.
You brought an extra dimension to every activity with your fun and laughter. I fondly remember the days out, the great camping trips and just the time splashing in the pool with our families.
From when you started cycling again to train for your France trip, I have always treasured the time we spent talking on the rides. You were always planning the next activity for Fiona and the children and you were such a loving father.

Dear Adam,
I will always remember the time I rode together with you on the Bab Al Shams Recovery Ride. We must have chatted for an hour and it was great fun because you had such a positive and enthusiastic approach to life. I loved the way you talked about your wife and children as you were so proud of them.
And now you are gone and I am deeply shocked and saddened. A terrible tragedy.
My condolences go out to Fiona and the children during this very difficult time.
Rest in Peace.
