Nadd Al Sheba Cycle Path

The decision to turn the unused camel track into a bicycle park came from the office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and the Ruler of Dubai.

This wonderful cycle park has a choice of an 8km, 6km and 4km loop. The whole course is lit by night (for safety reasons you still need to have lights on your bike) and there are toilets and airconditioned changing room facilities available with showers and lockers.

There is also an 850-metre children's proficiency course. The track for children (4-14 years old) has street signs, speed bumps and roundabouts to teach youngsters about road safety.

In the planning is a BMX track which will be 350m long, complying with Union Cycliste Internationale rules for BMX competitions.

All in all a really nice place to bike for all ages with a great view over towards the towers of Downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa.

Al Qudra Cycle Path

Two brand new cycling paths have recently been finished at Al Qudra Road (total length about 86km if you were to start at the start of the track).

The first cycling track stretches 18 km and runs besides the northern part of Al Qudra Road. It starts off the first R/A following the bridge over the Dubai Bypass Road and extends up to the R/A on the intersection of Bab Al Shams Road and Al Qudrah Roads; where it joins with the second track to ensure continuity for the enthusiasts of long-distance cycling sport.

The second track is a beautiful, unique loop of about 50 km passing through dunes and by the famous Bab Al Shams Hotel where one can always grab a cup of coffee.

Cycle Safe organises rides here on Friday mornings for beginners and advanced cyclists. There is also the popular Bab Al Shams coffee run on Saturday mornings.

Every Wednesday (subject to track availability) Spinneys presents FREE Cycle Safe Nights at the Dubai Autodrome race track circuit from 6pm until 9pm. The Circuit of 2.5km is undulating and flood lit.. A helmet must be worn at all times.

Just turn up and cycle. Once you get off the Motor City exit from the Arabian Ranches interchange, drive past the Autodrome on your right, then turn right and follow the road around to the back entrance where you can drive in and park your car at the Autodrome Pit Lane
